Today we are going to go over some of the things that you will want to think about and understand as you start your remodeling process. Over the years we have come up with many different little tips that help make the process easier for fantastic clients just like you.
Renovation Project Plan
The first thing that you want to do is start off with a plan. You will want to search through magazines, websites, Pinterest, model homes, and more looking for ideas. As you do this you will see bits and pieces of each home that you like. You will also see things that you absolutely hate in your home. Take lots of pictures, save websites, and pin away as you go through this process. After you have a good chunk of things to look at go back and look at your pictures. Many times you will see repetitive design options or concepts in your pictures. This can help you know what you gravitate towards in a home.
Calculate Remodeling Budget
Once you have some ideas of what you want for your home you will want to set a budget for your project. Many homeowners do not have any background knowledge in the area of home remodeling so coming up with a budget can be difficult. Anytime Remodeling can come out and help with this step. If you have some ideas of what you are looking for we can come out and talk roughly about numbers to give you an idea of what you are talking about. You can also start looking at start pricing out some of the materials of your design elements. When you make your budget you will want to allow for at least 10% extra to help cover any unforeseen expenses that come up during the remodeling process. As you are working on your budget you will want to think about the resale value of the home. Will the design options that you are considering be enticing to a future buyer? This is especially important if you are not planning on staying in this home forever.
